We watched friends, family members, loved ones, go through a maze of paperwork, endless calls, and confusing legal steps, all while grieving. It seemed absurd that in one of life’s hardest moments, the system made things even harder.
The process felt cold, bureaucratic, and outdated, and we couldn’t believe that this was the norm.
